Special Awards - Qualifications

Various Special Recognition Awards will be awarded to students with exemplary performance in the 2017-2018 academic year in the following areas:

• Leadership (Class/Club President or Vice President, Officers, etc.)
• Community Service
• Athletic Involvement
• Academic Subject (high scores on PSAT, SAT, ACT, AP Exams)
• Academic Achievement (Valedictorian/Salutatorian, Keynote Speaker, etc.)
• Special Category (music award, most improvement of the year, etc.)

 

To be considered for any of the Special Recognition Awards, students are required to submit:

1. Special Recognition Award Application
2. Special Recognition Award Nomination Form which must be completed by a school faculty
(counselor, teacher/professor, coach), a staff member (club advisor), a community member, or a supervisor.
3. Verification of test scores (if applicable)
4. Recognition awards/certificates awarded by school or organization (if applicable)
5. The Award Application Form (for 7th-12th grade students only)
6. Official/unofficial transcripts showing a cumulative grade point average of 2.50 or higher in the 2017-2018 academic year (for college students only)
7. One page written statement (written in either English or Vietnamese) describing what you have done to earn the award, and how it has influenced you in achieving your educational goal and/or your decision making in becoming a future community leader.
